The Aztecs believed that cacao pods were the gift of Quetzalcoatl, the God of Wisdom. The pods had so much value that they were used as a form of currency.
Preparation: Use 1 level teaspoon per 8 ounce cup. Heat freshwater to a boil and steep for 2 to 3 minutes. Sweeten with rock crystal sugar (or Honey Beads) and milk should you desire.
